Sir Storia was something like watching an MLB game during a summer afternoon, or fishing off the dock at the nearby pond, or even collecting seashells. It was a hobby. Inspired by my first game at Citi Field to see the NY Mets. As I left the game I walked through the parking lot and out of nowhere was this shiny golden home plate in the middle of the parking lot. It hit me. I was standing at THE HOME PLATE of the NY Mets where Shea Stadium once stood. I had been to games at both but this was remarkable to me. This moment spawned my idea for Sir Storia. I was going to make it my mission to document and record wherever anything historic or noteworthy happened. With Youngstown it did not take too long because so many mafia events happened here. I never gave it a thought because it was something fun to do and blow off steam.
But see, I also have this business that one would call my day job, and in reality my 24/7 job. That job entered new and exciting waters, waters that can sometimes attract the attention of press and media when in reality we are just buildings. We have no say or final decision. Since 2013 we do as we are told and our number one goal is to keep our client happy. I never expected my hobby to cause them grief or make anything worthy of news. So there stands a public apology.
Sir Storia, gone like the Romans or the Knights Templar, but maybe not forever. What goes around comes around. History can repeat itself and you just never know what’s around the corner.
